Introductory Post


Hi, My Name is Louis and I am a 17 year old male studying towards my A Levels at the Latymer School, North London. I study History, English and Media.
My Candidate Number is 0131, and I am part of group 5, alongside Josh Brooks (0110), Vivian Oparah (0621) and Sebastian Hodge (0330).

Marketing

In order to gain as wide an audeince reach as possible, we decidde that it would be a good idea to utilise as many short form media laforms as possible- in particular, we set up various social networking accounts in order to represent NTLS via different forms of media- such as music streaming and online photo sharing.

One of the first ways I hoped to build an audence was by creating  a NTLS Facebook page- to build an initial fanbase for the arist, The page allowed me to invite friends to like the page so that they could learn more about NTLS and keep updated. The facebook is pctured below:


The Facebook page contained many other features to enable to us to promote NTLS, one being the ability to share links to other NTLS media, and upload pictures for Facebookers to like, share and comment upon. These useful features are highlighted below:


We then set up a twitter account for our artists, as we noticed from studying other artists that a majority of their fanbase also used twtter as a away of following them, and interacting with other fans. Through the NTLS twitter page, we were able to begin to draw in fans, by following others who we believed may have an interest in NTLS, and follow the page so that they are updated with the latest NTLS news.




We could also use Twitter's synergy with the online image based social network Instagram, tweeting links to pictures from the NTLS instagram page, shown beow, in order to gain more followers, who may be attracted by the unique aesthetic styling of the NTLS artists. The instagram account is shown on the right:

As Instagram was originally, and still is, widely used as a mobile application, this provides short-form, interactive content for viewers whilst at home or on the move- with their ability to comment upon and like NTLS and follow the stream, engaging the audience further and making them more likely to buy into NTLS. Another social media platform which we decided to use was soundcloud- this is a music based platform where artists- from bedroom producers, to professional musicians, can post their creations to be freely viewed and shared by other. We set this up to create a mock up as to how the NTLS tracks could be shared and promoted, without the need of visuals. Sound cloud users can also leave comments on songs, which could provide an interactive service for fans and keep them engaged with the NTLS image.
